Argentine Wholesale Dollar Hits Eight-Month Low

Buenos Aires, March 13 (NA) – The wholesale dollar falls this Friday, dropping below the 1,400-peso mark, reaching its widest gap with the top of the exchange rate band in eight months. In the wholesale segment, the exchange rate retreated by 2.5 pesos to 1,392 for sale. In parallel, the Central Bank of Argentina (BCRA) continues its intervention in the foreign exchange market. In Thursday's session, the monetary authority purchased $47 million in the Foreign Exchange Market (MLC). Since January 5, the monetary authority has been buying currencies in all official market sessions. Meanwhile, according to the survey of financial institutions conducted by the Central Bank (BCRA), the rate stands at 1,418.73 pesos. On the other hand, parallel dollars are trading mixed: the MEP dollar fell 0.2% to 1,412.95 pesos, while the exchange rate settlement (CCL) rose 0.1% to 1,458.28 pesos. At the retail level, the dollar is quoted at 1,410 for sale at the National Bank of Argentina (BNA). The dollar card or tourist dollar, equivalent to the official retail dollar plus a 30% deductible from the Income Tax, is at 1,833. It has already accumulated purchases of $3,253 million so far in 2026, of which $541 million were in March alone. The blue dollar retreated to 1,410 for sale.
